Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA Lead for a remote US-based role focused on migrating Oracle databases from on‑prem to AWS, primarily rehosting to EC2. You will own end‑to‑end migration efforts, assess dependencies, and manage cutover and validation.

The role requires 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience, RAC knowledge, RMAN/Data Pump/GoldenGate, and strong AWS familiarity. Collaboration with security, network, and application teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience.
• Strong administration experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, and preferably 21c.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS or cloud environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, monitoring, backups for Oracle workloads.
• Experience with RAC and clustered databases.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS, primarily rehost to EC2.
• Assess DB versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, backups, security, HA/DR.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, cutover, rollback, validation, handover.
