Job summary

1Password is seeking a Senior Developer for the Open Source Team. You will strengthen open source posture and deliver developer tools inside workflows via Agent Hooks and IDE plugins. Lead architectural decisions and drive medium-to-large projects from planning through customer support.

Role requires strong communication, security-minded approach, and experience with public repositories and external contributors. Remote with US/Canada availability; benefits and equity accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Significant professional software development experience delivering medium-to-large projects end to end.
• Advanced command of a modern development toolchain (Git, IDEs, terminal, debugging and testing tools).
• Experience designing extensible, maintainable systems, ideally developer tooling or open source projects.
• Ability to set technical direction and make architectural decisions for scalable, secure products.
• Track record of working in public repositories and engaging external contributors.

Responsibilities

• Contribute large new features and significant product improvements, e.g., extending Agent Hooks across IDEs or in-IDE value.
• Make architectural decisions that keep integrations scalable, secure, and aligned to security models.
• Contribute to the roadmap by identifying opportunities and risks up to six months out.
• Raise code quality by identifying gaps in testing and documenting best practices for community-facing repos.
• Coordinate with Partnerships, Product, UX, and SDK/CLI teams to translate requirements into action.
• Drive initiatives to better support customers on your platform and mitigate developer issues.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment with constructive feedback.
