Markel seeks an experienced Senior Claims Examiner to handle ocean marine and related liability claims from coverage inquiry through liability assessment and resolution. You will coordinate with experts, adjusters, and underwriters, guiding strategy and ensuring timely results.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (JD or advanced degree a plus) and 5+ years of ocean marine or liability claims experience, with strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ocean marine or liability claims handling experience.
• Licensed claims adjuster in all states or eligible.
• Strong negotiation and litigation coordination experience.

Responsabilités

• Handle moderate to high complexity ocean marine and related claims.
• Direct and monitor assignments to experts and outside counsel.
• Analyze coverage and communicate positions; prepare coverage letters.
• Negotiate and settle claims; provide timely service throughout life cycle.
• Present at roundtables to senior claims leaders and underwriters.
