Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will design, analyze, and modify electrical systems for existing and new nuclear plants, collaborating with multi-discipline teams and clients to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires an ABET-accredited EE degree and 5+ years of nuclear project design experience, with strong communication, documentation, and the ability to badge for unescorted access.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years’ experience designing electrical systems in nuclear projects.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages.
• Experience with low/medium voltage distribution.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to be badged for unescorted access to a nuclear plant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages for equipment upgrades.
• Perform AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, and relay settings.
• Prepare procurement specifications and support vendor bid reviews.
• Interface with client, project team, and vendors.
• Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns for scope validation.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
• Support site installation and assist project manager to meet schedule and budget.
• Lead status meetings, progress reports, and item tracking.
