Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking an electrical engineer to join a project team focused on nuclear power plant electrical systems. You will design, troubleshoot, and analyze upgrades, while collaborating with mechanical, civil, I&C teams and the client to ensure scope, schedule, and budget are met.

Essential qualifications include a ABET‑accredited EE degree and 5+ years’ experience with electrical design for industrial plants, plus MV/LV distribution, relays and protection.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree.
• Five+ years' experience designing electrical systems in industrial projects.
• Experience selecting equipment, materials, and preparing design packages.
• Experience with low/medium voltage distribution, transformers, motors, relays.
• Effective written and verbal communication; detail oriented.
• Ability to badge for unescorted access to a nuclear plant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages for equipment upgrades.
• Prepare calculations: AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop.
• Prepare equipment procurement specs and vendor responses.
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams and the client; attend site walkdowns.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification.
• Support site installation and assist project manager to meet scope, time, budget.
