Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior electrical engineer to design, analyze, and modify electrical systems for nuclear power plants. You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines on power studies, equipment specs, and design changes, while interfacing with clients and vendors.

The role requires an ABET-accredited EE degree and 7+ years in industrial electrical design, with a hybrid work arrangement. A strong emphasis on communication, accuracy, and project oversight is essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years designing electrical systems for industrial projects.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages.
• Experience with low/medium voltage distribution, transformers, generators, relays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages for installing/upgrading plant equipment.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations including AC/DC power studies, short circuit, ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, protective relays.
• Prepare and review equipment procurement specs.
• Support vendor interactions, RFI responses, and questions tracking.
• Interface with multi-discipline teams and with clients and vendors.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns; travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification.
• Support site installation activities and assist the project manager to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
