Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for its nuclear power group in the United States. The role focuses on designing and reviewing electrical systems for existing and new plants, with coordination across disciplines and client interfaces.

Hybrid work allows three days in-office and two remote days. Candidates should have a BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited programs and 7+ years of nuclear-focused project experience, including calculation and specification work,

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years in electrical design for industrial projects, with focus on nuclear plants.
• Experience in selecting equipment and preparing design change packages.
• Experience with electrical system design including LV/MV distribution, transformers, generators, relays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team and client.
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages for equipment upgrades.
• Prepare detailed calculations (short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination).
• Prepare equipment procurement specifications and support vendor questions.
• Participate in bid reviews and vendor Q&A tracking.
• Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns to validate scope and client satisfaction.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site locations for construction coordination.
