Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, a leading nuclear power engineering firm, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems in nuclear plants. The role involves working in a project team, preparing change packages, and performing power studies.

The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work 3 days per week, with travel to client sites as needed. Candidates should have 8+ years of relevant experience and an ABET‑accredited BS in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design in a project team for industrial/nuclear plants.
• Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to project team and client.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear power station.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install/upgrade equipment.
• Prepare and review calculations for AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination.
• Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications and participate in vendor bid reviews.
• Interface with project team members from other disciplines and with clients/vendors.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and ensure client satisfaction.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification; support site installation activities.
