Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, a leader in nuclear engineering, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade electrical systems for nuclear power plants. You will prepare change packages, perform power system calculations, and develop procurement specs in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment.

Responsibilities include interfacing with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams, attending site walkdowns, and supporting installation activities to ensure scope, schedule, and budget

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Five or more years’ experience designing electrical systems for industrial applications in a project team.
• Experience selecting equipment, preparing specs and engineering design change packages.
• Experience with low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors, relays).
• Effective written and verbal communication to project team and client.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages to install or upgrade plant equipment for reliability.
• Prepare calculations such as short circuit, voltage drop, cable ampacity, breaker coordination.
• Prepare equipment procurement specifications and participate in bid reviews.
• Interface with project team members across disciplines and with clients/vendors.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and satisfaction.
• Support site installation activities and assist project manager to meet scope, schedule and budget.
