Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will design, modify and analyze electrical systems for nuclear plants, preparing design change packages and performing power studies, short circuits, and protection schemes.

Work with cross‑functional teams, support procurement, and coordinate with clients and vendors. The role requires an ABET‑accredited degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, with some travel and client interaction.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial applications, especially in power plants.
• Experience with LV/MV distribution, transformers, generators, relays, and protective schemes.
• Effective written and verbal communication; detail oriented; able to badge for nuclear access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages for equipment upgrades to ensure reliability.
• Perform electrical power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, and breaker coordination.
• Develop procurement specifications and support vendor questions.
• Interface with multi‑discipline teams and clients; lead or support design reviews.
• Assist project manager to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery; provide progress updates.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification as needed.
