Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Network Engineer for the SMIT contract at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. You will lead cross-domain network engineering, oversee incident response, and drive secure, reliable operations for the Navy NMCI environment.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, active 8570 IAT Level III, and vendor certs from Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto/F5. Expect a senior, on-site leadership position with 24x7 readiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree with 12+ years of network engineering experience; degree may be substituted at manager’s discretion.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification required (e.g., CCNP Security, CISSP, CASP+).
• Active DoD 8570 certification and vendor certifications (Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto/F5) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across BAN/LAN, Wireless, and WAN/Boundary architectures.
• Serve as cybersecurity SME and manage STIG vulnerabilities for CORA inspections.
• Create and peer-review Engineering Implementation Plans (EIPs) and present at ERBs.
• Provide Tier-III NOC escalation support and lead complex incident troubleshooting.
• Offer 24x7 on-call support to meet Navy mission requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, domain architects, project managers, and SRE leadership.
• Perform maintenance and configuration changes on routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, DMZ appliances.
• Drive CSI by developing new processes and identifying network automation opportunities.
