Job summary

Leidos currently has an opening on the SMIT contract for a Field/Base Network Engineer position to support NMCI and related cybersecurity services across Navy networks. This role requires coordination of a large technical team, direct customer engagement, incident response, and adherence to DoD procedures.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Operations/Engineering leadership experience, knowledge of routing/switching, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• DoD security clearance and ability to upgrade to TS.
• IAT Level II certification required before onboarding.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent network cert.
• 5+ years troubleshooting routing/switching.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (OCONUS).
• Experience with COMSEC and network operations.

Responsibilities

• Works as an Operations-focused Network Engineer on BAN/LAN/WAN network operations and installs/configures network gear.
• Provides COMSEC Local Element support including loading keys and interacting with Government KOAMs.
• Documents work activities and maintains site documentation in established tools.
• Initiates software upgrades and changes to the NGEN-R system and communications infrastructure.
• Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of faulty hardware following SOPs and vendor guidance.
• Interfaces with the Network Operations Center (NOC) for incident troubleshooting and restoration.
