Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Jr. Transport Network Specialist to support NMCI/SMIT programs, focusing on planning, designing, and evaluating Navy NMCI network components. You will assist in delivering enterprise backbone services, cybersecurity, and data transport across DoD networks.

The role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience, DoD clearance, ITIL familiarity, and hands-on WAN/LAN expertise. Shift work and cross-functional collaboration are expected in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

1-2 years of prior relevant experience or training.
US Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance.
DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification required prior to onboarding (listed certifications).
Familiarity with ITIL best practices (ITIL Foundations).
Knowledgeable on tools used in an Enterprise organization that aids in Event, Incident, and Performance Management.

Responsibilities

Monitor events and incidents affecting Network Transport and service health across the Enterprise.
Monitor WLAN, LAN, and WAN solutions critical to user mission continuity.
Create trouble tickets from monitoring tools or customer reports.
Initial assessment and triage on event criticality; escalate as needed.
Interact with vendors and WAN/BAN teams to resolve WAN events and incidents.
Maintain rapid response to network infrastructure alerts (5 minutes or less).
Provide support to Site Operations and external organizations using problem-solving skills.
