Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract and NMCI modernization, delivering core cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport for the Navy.

You will lead a large teleworking/onsite team, manage incidents, perform upgrades, and coordinate with the NGEN-R program and customer stakeholders while maintaining site documentation and compliance with DoD security standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or MS/MBA with 2+ years.
• DoD Secret, ability to upgrade to TS clearance.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification required before onboarding.
• Network Vendor certification (Cisco CCNA/CCNP) or higher.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (OCONUS possible).
• 5+ years troubleshooting complex routing and switching.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an operations-focused network engineer on BAN/LAN/WAN network operations and related tasks.
• Provide COMSEC Local Element support including asset and key management.
• Document work activities and maintain site documentation.
• Initiate software upgrades and changes to the NGEN-R system and infrastructure.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of faulty hardware per SOPs and guidance.
• Interface with the NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral.
• Support configuration/asset management and reflect as-is/to-be in docs.
• Support cybersecurity requirements and STIG compliance.
• Coordinate network upgrades with stakeholders and customers.
• Monitor network health and proactively mitigate issues.
• Travel to locations for on-site operations as needed.
