Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. in Louisville, KY is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier relationships across multiple categories.

You will drive best-cost procurement, oversee cross-functional teams, and develop category strategies aligned with project goals for cost, quality, and schedule. The role requires 7–10 years in procurement, contract management, or related fields, with strong negotiation and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years' experience in a procurement, contract management, project management or related role.
• Expertise in procurement, estimating, business, and leadership.
• Demonstrated experience developing procurement category strategies.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts with vendors.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated experience creating project management plans that specify charter, scope, cost estimates, schedule, milestones and target dates, and risk management plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated, driven to succeed, strong crisis thinking, and able to think and communicate in terms of process flow

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategy to achieve financial value-add and improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through detailed analysis of the category portfolio including consolidation of supplier base and spend across all geographical areas.
• Address key operating priorities including performance management, safety, and compliance.
• Assess work streams and activities for consolidation opportunities and best-practice processes.
• Closely monitor pricing, commodity trends, supplier capacity, and industry developments.
• Negotiate Master Agreements with key suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Develop and implement metrics to monitor area of responsibility and KPIs for suppliers.
• Challenge existing procurement, estimating, and cost-tracking practices to improve results.
• Implement innovative solutions and change management strategies.
• Build networks inside and outside the organization to support strategy execution.
• Ensure category strategies evolve with changing market conditions.
• Maintain safety-conscious work environment following company protocols.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned, with emphasis on compliance and ethics.
