Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs in a mobile field setting. The role emphasizes diagnostics, on-site problem solving, and customer-facing service with strict safety compliance.

The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will lead on-site tasks, manage a company service truck, and use TRAIT to record work and procure parts, all while maintaining productivity and high repair standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, related field experience acceptable.
• At least 3 years experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own hand tools required to perform duties.
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• ASE L2 certification preferred.
• DOT pre-employment process including background screen and DOT physical required.
• Must be 21 years or older with valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and repairs in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and accuracy of diagnostics.
• Manage parts inventory on service truck and document RO findings in TRAIT.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental policies including OSHA/DOT.
