Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs in a mobile/field environment. The role emphasizes diagnostics, triage, and acting as a lead on job sites.

Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty equipment, managing parts on a service truck, and documenting work via RO systems. Strong DOT compliance and safety focus are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required with 3 years’ related experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Able to operate hand tools and essential equipment safely.
• Willingness to undergo DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical truck systems.
• Maintain and operate company service truck with safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Document work using iOS TRAIT app and upload RO photos and findings.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and PO numbers.
