Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform rooming, vitals, med reconciliation, and patient history tasks in a clinic setting. You will support providers with procedures and routine lab work, including POCT and CLIA-waived tests, while maintaining patient safety and high-quality care.

Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to policies are required. Prior MA experience and appropriate certifications are necessary; training and onboarding may be provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
• MA scope of practice must be followed and competencies maintained.
• Certifications and training per division requirements (AHA BLS and CMA/RMA where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope and policies.
• Performs vitals, medical history, allergy review, screenings, and rooming tasks.
• Assists provider with procedures and laboratory duties per CLIA waivers.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, authorizations, and scheduling as needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and supports onboarding of teammates.
