Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple clinics. You will perform rooming tasks, vital signs, medication reconciliation, history taking, and health screenings under provider supervision.

You will assist with procedures, venipuncture, specimen handling, and point-of-care testing while maintaining CLIA standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• No experience required or preferred.
• Must follow scope of practice and policies.
• Ability to perform routine and complex clinical tasks within competency.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross trained for duties within specialty.
• Maintains clean work environment and stocked supplies.
• Communicates effectively and escalates when needed.
