Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care within the MA scope of practice. You will perform rooming tasks like vital signs, medication reconciliation, and health maintenance, while supporting physicians with procedures as ordered.

You will also handle venipuncture, CLIA-waived tests, vaccinations, and related lab duties, ensuring accurate documentation, patient communication, and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited/approved Medical Assistant program, or 2 years verifiable full-time MA experience in last 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, history, and screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Handles tasks like refills, authorizations, messaging, and scheduling.
