Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across departments. The role includes rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and reviewing medical history, with readiness to assist providers during procedures and manage lab tasks.

Responsibilities also cover administering medications and vaccines, conducting CLIA-waived tests, and maintaining clean, stocked clinical spaces while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training per DD214.
• For IL/WI Wake Forest: high school diploma and MA program or 2 years verifiable MA experience.
• Floyd & Navicent: high school diploma and MA program or 2 years verifiable MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming and vital signs, history, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered and performs lab duties.
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is stocked.
