Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will perform rooming, vitals, medication reconciliation, history taking, and routine screenings while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You'll assist with procedures, manage lab tasks, vaccination administration, and care coordination, with a focus on clear communication, teamwork, and adherence to policies and CLIA standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.
• Demonstrates professional practice advancement through governance, safety roles, or vaccine coordination.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks including vitals, med reconciliation, history, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties per CLIA standards.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and supports training of teammates.
