Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple clinic areas. You will perform rooming tasks, collect vitals, review history and screenings, and assist with procedures as ordered.

You will handle patient messaging, scheduling, and referrals while maintaining clean, organized workspaces. The role requires strong communication, basic Lab/CLIA tasks, and proficiency with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of formal MA program.
• 2 years of verifiable MA experience within the last 5 years for some divisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, allergies, and screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and rooming as ordered.
• Conduct lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administer medications and vaccines following medication rights.
• Handle scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations; ensure patient messaging and supplies.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and functioning work areas and equipment.
• Communicate effectively and escalate issues as needed.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate patient care and teamwork.
