Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across clinic workflows. The role includes rooming, vitals, medication reconciliation, and health maintenance while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

You will assist providers with procedures and perform lab duties under CLIA guidelines. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and completion of an approved MA program or related military clinical training, plus at least two years of MA experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with EMR and Microsoft Windows; familiarity with email and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per standing orders, and CLIA-waived tests.
