Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with patient care, rooming and vital signs. You will perform medication reconciliation, health maintenance tasks, screenings, and assist with procedures.

You will also handle phlebotomy, CLIA-waived lab tests, vaccine administration, scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment and using EMR systems daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or valid clinical DD214 alternative.
• 2+ years as a Medical Assistant preferred in healthcare settings.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, review histories and screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures and order-related tasks.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen labeling and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administer medications and vaccines per rights and protocols.
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, authorizations and patient messaging.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and ensure equipment readiness.
• Communicate effectively and escalate issues as needed.
