Stantec’s Buildings team is a global leader delivering integrated design across engineering, architecture and sustainability for data centers. The Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical will guide technical design, mentor staff, and drive high-quality outcomes for mission-critical facilities.

Open to any location with a Stantec office; this role emphasizes leadership, client communication, and cutting-edge mechanical design expertise within a collaborative project team.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10+ years related industry experience preferred.
• Mission critical / data center experience required.
• PE license or other professional certification based on expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Assist business development in new project pursuits with input on RFPs/RFQs and participate in interviews.
• Manage technical project process and scope within own discipline; track scope, schedule, and hours and resolve inconsistencies.
• Delegate tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline.
• Follow QA/QC processes and obtain approvals before final reviews.
• Build and maintain strong client relations and articulate requirements to clients and staff.
• Lead technical discussions and mechanical workgroups to meet project objectives.
• Coordinate with all disciplines for integrated design delivery.
• Act as supervisor and mentor to the design team and support staff development.
• Stay current with data center design trends and technologies and participate in professional communities.
• Develop design guides and calculation templates for data center projects.
