Job summary

Stantec is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to apply building mechanical engineering principles within our Buildings practice. You will deliver projects that meet requirements, manage budgets, and collaborate across disciplines to exceed client expectations.

You will lead the design and documentation of mechanical systems, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients and vendors to ensure compliance and value. Strong Revit and BIM capability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer licensed is preferred or currently working toward licensure.
• PM certs (e.g., PMP/LEED AP) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop full documentation for new construction and renovation projects.
• Design and document mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing) and coordinate resources.
• Lead project meetings and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide design principles and execution.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project budgets/schedules.
• Develop design solutions and manage risk across projects.
