Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader to guide a multidisciplinary group and deliver complex building projects. You will lead the mechanical engineering team, set design approaches, review performance, and collaborate with clients, contractors, and officials.

You will apply strong HVAC knowledge, project leadership, and coordination skills to ensure quality design, cost control, and schedule adherence across varied projects in healthcare, manufacturing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; ABET accreditation preferred.
• PE licensure is required; licensure in additional states is a plus.
• Minimum 12–15 years of professional building mechanical engineering experience with large/complex projects.
• Experience in technical leadership, team leadership, or engineering management is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Engineering Team, manage workload, staffing, and resource planning.
• Conduct staff performance reviews and support career development.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality across projects.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and design approaches for projects.
