Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Electrical for Mission Critical Facilities to guide electrical design on data center projects. You will mentor engineers, manage scope, schedule, and budget while delivering cutting-edge solutions that meet client requirements in a collaborative team environment.

Extensive data center experience, strong communication, and proficiency in tools like Autodesk, Revit, BIM 360, SKM, CYME are required.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 10+ years related industry experience preferred.
• Mission critical / data center experience required.
• Registered professional engineer (PE) license or other professional certification based on expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the business development team in new project pursuits by providing input on RFPs/RFQs and participates in project interviews and presentations.
• Manages technical project process and scope of work within own discipline; reviews and tracks scope, schedule, and budgeted hours; finds and resolves all inconsistencies with project manager.
• Delegates tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline as appropriate.
• Follows quality management process; conducts project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority.
• Builds and maintains strong client relations; able to understand and articulate project and design requirements, progress, challenges, and troubleshooting to clients and technical staff.
• Leads technical discussions and mechanical workgroups with project stakeholders as their trusted advisor, identifies key requirements, and adapts design accordingly to meet the project objectives.
• Coordinates well with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
• Acts as supervisor and resource to technical design team; supports and assists staff education, training, and development.
• Actively participates in the data center engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge, stay up-to-date with new and upcoming requirements and technologies, and strives for professional growth.
• Identifies opportunities to improve and standardize project deliverables across Stantec MCF business centers.
• Contributes to development of design guides, technical memos, calculation templates etc.
