Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is a global design leader delivering data centers and mission critical facilities. The Senior Electrical Engineer will guide the technical design, mentor staff, and ensure quality across the design process for high‑power data center projects.

Open locations with a Stantec office. Requires PE license and 10+ years of data center experience; strong leadership, client communication, and proficiency in Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit, and CFD tools.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years related industry experience preferred.
• Mission critical / data center experience required.
• Registered professional engineer (PE) license or other professional certification based on expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Assist BD team on new project pursuits by providing input on RFPs/RFQs.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget within own discipline; track and resolve discrepancies with PM.
• Delegate tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline.
• Follow QA/QC processes; conduct reviews before technical authority approvals.
• Build and maintain strong client relations and communicate progress to clients and staff.
• Lead technical discussions and adapt designs to meet objectives.
• Coordinate with all disciplines to integrate design and client requests.
• Act as supervisor and mentor to junior staff and educate team.
• Stay engaged in data center engineering community to keep up with requirements and technologies.
• Develop design guides and memos related to data center design.
