Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead large-scale automated fulfillment projects in the United States. You will oversee mechanical layouts, select conveyors, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive designs.

You will mentor junior engineers, set engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement across multiple projects, including on-site audits and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments.
• Experience in project management including resource planning and scheduling.
• Experience in leading teams and mentoring engineers.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and engineering tools.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct layouts for automated material handling projects.
• Lead selection and specification of conveyor types and third‑party equipment.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls and structural teams for integrated designs.
• Direct 3D modelling efforts and clash detection across projects.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance and design standards.
