Job summary

Amazon.com is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee complex automated fulfillment system projects, directing layouts, equipment selections, and integration with electrical and controls teams. You will mentor junior engineers, drive technical standards, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across multiple sites.

You’ll travel to sites as needed for audits and support, lead installation and commissioning, and push continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments.
• Experience in project management including resource planning, schedules, status reporting, and task prioritization.
• Experience in team leadership.
• Experience in 3D CAD.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee translation of customer drawings and specifications into mechanical conveyor systems across multiple projects.
• Lead optimization of mechanical designs within budget across disciplines.
• Direct 3D modeling efforts and clash detection across project portfolio.
