Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a senior mechanical manufacturing engineer to design and deliver tooling, fixtures, and machines for rocket hardware. You will apply CAD, FEM analysis, and DFM/ DFA principles to support development, testing, and production at multiple facilities.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize safety, cost, quality, cycle time, and reliability, while managing budgets and schedules for cradle-to-grave tooling projects.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in mechanical engineering with tooling, fixtures, and machines.
• Proficiency in CAD-based design for manufacturing and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and stack-up analysis.
• Experience with CNC machining, welding, sheet metal, and assembly processes.

Responsabilités

• Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment.
• Integrate mechanical concepts and analyses across multiple projects in fast-paced settings.
• Create drawings following ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
• Handle tooling, fixtures, environmental chambers, and other specialty machines.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration teams to optimize safety, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets to complete projects.
