Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and integration of tooling and fixtures for rocket hardware and test systems. You will apply mechanical design expertise, perform FEM analysis, and ensure manufacturability from development to production.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing, and integration teams to optimize safety, cost, quality, cycle time, and reliability across Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in a Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer role.
• 10+ years’ experience with tooling, fixtures, and custom machines for manufacturing, assembly, and test.
• FEM/structure analysis experience and hand calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration tooling for Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn units.
• Integrate mechanical design concepts for multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
• Create drawings following ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Address fixtures, material handling, rotisseries, test fixtures, weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration teams to optimize safety, cost, quality, cycle time, and reliability.
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Set and manage schedules and budgets for project completion.
