Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced tooling design engineer to design, analyze, and release ground support equipment for multiple programs. You will work with Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn teams to tackle manufacturing challenges and deliver safe, reliable tooling for development and flight hardware.

Qualified candidates have extensive CAD/analysis experience, DFM/DFA focus, and strong GD&T knowledge, with leadership and project management capabilities in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Formación

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years designing, building, and commissioning tooling and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Experience with FEM and structural analysis plus hand calculations.
• Proficient CAD design and drafting for complex tooling.
• Strong DFM and DFA knowledge including taking products to production.
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance/stack-up analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Design production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling and equipment.
• Integrate concepts of mechanical design across projects in fast-paced environment.
• Apply ASME Y14.5 drafting standards when creating drawings.
• Handle tooling for fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to optimize cradle‑to‑grave metrics.
• Manage projects from vendor selection to commissioning of tooling.
• Set and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure completion.
