Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to scale automated manufacturing across facilities. You will lead mechanical design, tooling development, and hardware integration for automated equipment, including robotics and material handling.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure safety, quality, and cost targets. Applicants should have extensive CAD/GD&T experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive projects from concept

Qualifications

10+ years of end-to-end design, procurement, assembly and commissioning of automated tooling or equipment.
10+ years CAD experience with GD&T on 2D drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Attention to detail and clear communication with partners.
Understanding of control systems, robotics, and automated equipment.

Responsibilities

Mechanical design, hardware development, and 3D CAD visualization.
Create, interpret, and review mechanical drawings.
Manage full project lifecycle from requirements through commissioning.
Develop hardware design and process flow for automated equipment.
Design automation equipment including robotic end-effectors and material handling.
Provide production support and perform root-cause analysis.
Project and vendor management.
Improve manufacturing processes through automation; define architecture and roadmap.
Integrate mechanical, electronic, pneumatic components into unified systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements.
