RTX’s Hardware Engineering, Air Launched Effectors (ALE) in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and production support for aerospace hardware across the entire life cycle. You will drive technical solutions in a fast-paced environment with a focus on DFMA and producibility, while collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform tolerance analyses, and guide manufacturing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with Creo (Pro/E) or similar 3D modeling software.

Responsabilités

• Owns technical tasks and serves as a prime technical contact for complex mechanical problems.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and suppliers to document the TDP and verify requirements.
• Mentors junior engineers and provides guidance within the mechanical discipline.
• Leads small teams and coordinates across functions such as supply chain, operations, quality, and systems.
• Performs mechanical design, development, and documentation for defense system hardware.
• Supports production and first article inspections and supplier manufacturing process improvements.
