Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team. The role focuses on mechanical hardware design, system integration, and program execution across design and production, with opportunities to lead component modeling, documentation, and release processes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across structures, thermal, harnesses, electronics packaging, and suppliers, travel domestically and internationally, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Experience in creation, review and interpretation of technical documentation for hardware.
• Experience in mechanical design, development, manufacturing or tooling processes.
• Experience in development, creation, release, or updates of engineering drawings using a 3D CAD tool.

Responsibilities

• Design complex mechanical hardware across lifecycle including missiles and launchers.
• Perform mechanical design analyses for form, fit, and function.
• Lead a mechanical engineering team in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide support for product assembly and integration at domestic and international sites.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with other engineering disciplines and operations.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
