Job summary

RTX’s Hardware Engineering team in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze and integrate mechanical hardware for defense programs. You’ll lead projects, perform 3D CAD modeling, and drive design reviews across multidisciplinary teams.

You will mentor engineers, manage tasks to meet schedule and budget, and support production at domestic and international facilities. Onsite work with travel to suppliers is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in the creation, review and interpretation of technical documentation used in hardware or tooling development/production.
• Experience in mechanical design, development, manufacturing or tooling processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical hardware for missiles and launchers, supporting lifecycle from proposal to testing.
• Lead engineering teams and collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve challenges and deliver designs.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and participate in design reviews and trade studies.
