RTX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Tucson, AZ campus to design and deliver mechanical hardware for defense systems. You will lead cross-functional teams, perform rigorous design analyses, and drive hardware integration across domestic and international sites.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years, and the ability to travel to suppliers and factories. Clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in the creation, review and interpretation of technical documentation utilized in the development or production of hardware or tooling products.
• Experience in mechanical design, advanced design development, manufacturing or tooling processes, or related areas.
• Experience in the development, creation, release, or updates of engineering drawings utilizing a 3D CAD design tool.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop mechanical hardware for missiles and launchers across the product lifecycle, including proposal, development, design, manufacturing, integration and testing.
• Perform mechanical design analyses to ensure form, fit and function.
• Lead small teams with structures, thermal, harness and interconnects, electronics packaging, tooling and integration.
• Provide support for product assembly and integration in factories and suppliers (domestic and international).
• Lead a mechanical engineering team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Independently manage tasks to meet schedule, budget and technical goals.
• Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies to support informed engineering decisions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to support technical growth.
