Job summary

RTX’s Hardware Engineering, ALE team in Tucson, AZ seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, development, and production support for air-launched effectors. You will work with Raytheon factories and suppliers, applying DFMA and tolerance analyses while guiding junior engineers.

On-site role with travel to government and supplier facilities as needed. Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree (advanced degree preferred) with 5+ years of related experience (3+ years for advanced degree

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years of experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience in CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership and execution of tasks related to mechanical design, development, and production sustainment of mechanical sub-systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across functions including supply chain, operations, quality, systems, and electrical.
• Perform tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function per design requirements.
