Job summary
Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group is seeking a senior mechanical engineer with a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. You will work on power uprates, turbine refurbishments, and associated engineering tasks for nuclear plants, interfacing with clients, and leading technical reviews.
The role requires 10+ years in the nuclear industry, ABET-accredited BS in mechanical engineering, and experience aligning with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program with strong thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
- 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
- Experience with nuclear uprates and/or turbine retrofit projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering design for nuclear plants, codes and regulations.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analyses for nuclear power uprates and related projects.
- Interface with clients and project teams to present technical discussions and status.
- Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
