You will lead calculations and evaluations, mentor junior staff, and work directly with clients to deliver robust design solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical engineering from ABET-accredited program with focus on thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• 10+ years of nuclear power industry experience.
• Experience with nuclear uprates and turbine retrofit projects.
• Experience in balance of plant, heat balance, pumps, exchangers and heat sinks.
• Strong technical report writing and calculations skills.
• Working knowledge of codes and standards for nuclear plant design.
• Proficiency with MS Office; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensing basis system and component evaluations for nuclear uprate projects.
• Perform calculations for heat balances, power train components, and plant hazards.
• Prepare task reports and equipment evaluations for client requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff on power plant tasks.
• Interface with clients and project teams; present technical discussions.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
• Attend client meetings and site walks to validate scope and satisfaction.
