Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced nuclear power engineer to perform consulting work for uprates and turbine retrofit projects. You will interface with clients and project teams, develop proposals and cost estimates, and lead mentoring of junior engineers.

The role requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program, 10+ years in nuclear power, and strong report writing skills. Hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days per week is offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from ABET-accredited program with strong thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• 10+ years in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with nuclear power uprates and turbine retrofit projects.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Perform consulting work for power uprates in the nuclear industry.
• Interface with clients and project teams to present technical discussions and project status.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
• Manage resources and budget development.
• Review heat balance, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant hazards calculations.
