Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Analysis Engineer to lead nuclear uprate projects, performing heat balance and equipment evaluations. You will interface with clients, develop proposals, and mentor junior staff in a hybrid work setting.

Ideal candidates have a BSME from an ABET-accredited program with 12+ years in the nuclear industry and a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from ABET-accredited program with interest in thermodynamics and heat transfer.
• 12+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with nuclear power uprates and/or turbine retrofit projects.
• Solid knowledge of balance of plant systems, heat balance, and related calculations.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead licensing basis system and component evaluations for nuclear uprate projects.
• Prepare calculations related to heat balances, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant hazards.
• Prepare task reports and equipment evaluations for client requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on power plant tasks.
• Interface with clients and project teams to present technical status.
• Develop engineering proposals and cost estimates.
