Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team for Industrial Water projects. You will lead a design team on water and wastewater facilities, coordinate with cross-functional groups across the US and abroad, and guide equipment sizing, piping, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires 11+ years of experience, a mechanical engineering degree, and active licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration/licensure to support engineer of record requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on design for complex industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Oversee development of P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping isometrics, data sheets, and specs.
• Provide engineering calculations to size equipment and verify performance.
• Ensure designs meet codes, standards, and QA/QC requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as Responsible Engineer for select systems.
