Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team, acting as a Project Discipline Engineer (PDE) for Industrial Water projects. You will lead a design team, coordinate with different execution teams, and plan mechanical activities across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience, strong mechanical design skills, and ability to mentor others while ensuring compliance with codes and BV standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years related work experience required.
• Active engineering registration or licensure required/accommodated.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for industrial water projects.
• Oversee development of P&IDs, layouts, isometrics and data sheets.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment sizing and calculations.
• Ensure designs meet codes and BV standards.
• Review vendor submittals and shop drawings for compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as Responsible Engineer.
