Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team as a Senior Project Discipline Engineer for Industrial Water projects. You will lead a design team, oversee mechanical design activities, and ensure quality across pumps, piping, and equipment systems throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires 11+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, leadership skills, and strong knowledge of water treatment facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
• 11+ years of related experience is preferred.
• Experience leading mechanical design for industrial water/wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for complex industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Develop and review P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping isometrics, data sheets and technical specs.
• Provide technical guidance on engineering calculations for optimal equipment sizing and performance.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across projects.
