Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead a mechanical systems team for Industrial Water projects. You will drive design, planning, and execution across water and wastewater facilities, coordinating with US and international design teams to deliver robust solutions.

You will ensure compliance with standards, mentor engineers, and contribute to business growth while operating in a flexible, employee-owned environment that values safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for industrial water projects.
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables like P&IDs and equipment data sheets.
• Provide technical guidance on engineering calculations and performance parameters.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, codes, and best practices.
• Review vendor submittals, shop drawings, and technical docs for compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with other design disciplines.
