Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Associate, Senior Mechanical Engineer – Federal to lead HVAC, piping, and plumbing design for federal projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence in California and the US West using Revit and other design tools.

The role emphasizes client leadership, project delivery from planning through construction, and adherence to codes while growing Stantec’s Federal practice with innovative, client-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience as a Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer for buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff on federal projects.
• Deliver complex HVAC, plumbing, and piping designs for buildings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local codes and standards.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Support business development and client engagement for the Federal practice.
